Welcome to the realm of the Shanghai Krauts Football Club, one of the oldest and most renowned amateur football clubs in Shanghai. Some say the roots of the club trace back to the first German arriving in Shanghai in 1885, although it was only in 1995 that the Shanghai Krauts became officially associated with the Shanghai International Football League as one of its founding members. Though German in tradition and virtues, the club has welcomed players representing over 20 different nationalities into the ranks over the years. Regular training sessions throughout the entire year are complemented by competitive league matches in the Shanghai International Football League (SIFL), international tournaments (notably the Asian Championships in Bangkok 2009 as our best result), Bundesliga-viewing in the Spot Bar and a lot of club parties. So, feel free to join the club to take full advantage of all the fun! With the growing number of club members and in a drive to serve all players' interests and ambitions best, in 2006 the club formed the Shanghai Krauts - Die Zweite (formerly Shanghai Sauerkrauts) under the Krauts umbrella. If you feel that your football skills have just missed the critical hurdle to becoming a professional player and you are committed to assist the club in battling for the SIFL Premier League crown every Saturday then visit Shanghai Krauts. In case the "speed factor", "age factor", "weight factor" or simply your "personal preference factor" leaves you to take on the league competition in a more leisurely fashion, learn more about the Shanghai Krauts - Die Zweite. Either way, we are looking forward to welcoming you and enjoying great times with all the lads! Daniel Berger, Club President |
